About Us

United Way for Cortland County Mission Statement:

Our mission is to build a stronger community by investing in agency programs that help people improve their lives by providing health and human services

We are the only local organization structured to support numerous human service programs in addressing the needs of area families. We provide our Community Partners with a more efficient vehicle for campaigning and collecting funds. Many of these agencies are not equipped to raise their own contributions. With the support of the UWCC, member agencies are able to focus more of their time and resources on serving the needs of our community.

Every fall we begin a new campaign cycle, raising money for our programs through letter writing, employee campaigns, and special events. The donations are then granted to our programs through a volunteer run Allocations Process every spring.

The United Way for Cortland County relies on volunteers for everything we do. Every year hundreds of people help with the campaign and special events. If you want to get involved, please contact us!
